In June 2010, M&I Materials Ltd was named as ‘Best Supplier for Quality’ at the Siemens Annual Transformer Suppliers Day.

Siemens is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of transformers and every year the company’s Transformer Business Unit awards prizes to its leading suppliers. Prizes are given under the categories of quality, logistics, procurement and technology.

The annual transformer awards aim to strengthen strategic partnerships with key suppliers, in order to keep and expand Siemens’ strong position in the transformer market through collective efforts. The awards also express appreciation for the commitment and support of their suppliers.

Siemens runs a companywide, unified evaluation process aimed at determining supplier status. Assessments for the awards are conducted by eighteen purchasing units, spread all over the world. At each office, assessments are carried out by experts in the respective specialty areas. They judge companies for numerous criteria, divided into the main areas of purchasing, quality, logistics and technology.
