Manufacturing Excellence Attracts Chinese VIPs to M&I Materials

Just months after receiving a visit from HRH the Prince of Wales, the team at M&I Materials were again honoured, this time to open their doors to H.E. Mr Liu Xiaoming, Ambassador of The People’s Republic of China to the UK, and his wife, Madame Hu Pinghua.

The United Kingdom is the first major Western country to recognise the People’s Republic of China. In recent years, the two countries have enjoyed close high level exchanges, in-depth cooperation in various fields, growing mutual understanding and friendship and closer communication and collaboration in international affairs.

The focus of this event was the promotion of China-UK exchanges and the strengthening of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.  In particular, Ambassador Liu Xiaoming was keen to visit M&I Materials because of its reputation for high quality manufacturing; its involvement in the environmental markets and its strong links supporting Chinese projects.

The Ambassador, accompanied by guests including Clive Drinkwater, International Trade Director, UKTI, Stephen Philips, CEO for the China-Britain Business Council, and Susan Haird, Deputy Chief Executive, UKTI, were greeted by the team responsible for Asian Development and given a tour of the outstanding manufacturing facilities.

Impressed with M&I Materials’ portfolio of successful brands, Ambassador Liu commented that he could see a wide range of areas where M&I Materials could work in partnership with China.

Speaking after the visit, M&I Materials’ Asia Business Development Manager, Jason Cho, commented: “We are very honoured that Ambassador Liu could visit M&I Materials and we were delighted we could demonstrate how well M&I Materials is working in partnership with many organisations across China.  We look forward to developing even closer links in the future.”
